Part One of Beyond the Labels: Recognizing Talent in Every Community
In this learning module for educators, a history of gifted education is used to help set the stage for why we still struggle today with equitable identification in gifted and talented programs across the United States. Important information is provided on the factors that contribute to the underidentification of culturally and linguistically diverse students, as well as the risks these student groups face when their potential is not correctly identified and their learning needs are not appropriately met.
